I have acid reflux. It's a mild case, and (usually) very easily managed with over-the-counter Pepcid AC. I also like Buffalo wings, and will occasionally have a plate of ten wings and fries as dinner.

I did so Saturday evening, and followed all my usual tricks for managing reflux - eat early, sit up for a while before going to bed, etc. Well, at three Ay Em, the reflux woke me up, and I ended up spending two hours dosing in my recliner before the Pepto-Bismol completely kicked in. It appears that I've eaten my last wing. Darn.

There are a number of movies that I've seen parts of but not the whole thing, or not in order. One of those movies is the great siege western Rio Bravo, starring John Wayne and a shockingly young Angie Dickinson. Thanks to the magic of DVRs, I was able to record it on AMC and watch it while skipping through the commercials. It was an enjoyable flick, and well worth the time.

The movie is also notable for being the first to use El Degüello. Fans of the movie The Alamo know it as the "no quarter" song played by Santa Anna outside the Alamo. Here it's used by the local bad guy for much the same purpose. It's a haunting song.
