That Was Refreshing
Dec. 7th, 2010 10:24 amI'd almost forgotten what it was like to wake up to a warm house. I got pleasantly reminded of it this morning, which put me in a pretty good mood.
In other news, I see that my friend and fellow author Jeff Duntemann just got back from a cruise. I envy him a bit, as I'd like to take an "escape to warm weather" vacation as well. However, having taken two trips this year and dumped a metric shitload of cash on the house (cost of a warm house? $600), I can afford it but really shouldn't. So, I won't.
However, I am going to Worldcon this year in Reno. (It's a tax write-off! Yeah!) After the con, I'm planning a road trip to three National Parks - Lassen Volcanic, Crater Lake and Redwoods. All in all, it will be a two-week trip, involving a week of rental car cost. So, another reason to go easy on the vacation cash.
Lastly, the always-interesting Jim McDonald tells you how to get published. It's good advice, but those looking for a quick fix will not be happy. In truth, those looking for a quick fix rarely find one.
