Due to the heat, yesterday's golf outing turned into a death march, so we called it a day after 14 holes. We didn't even adjourn to the bar - we were too hot to drink booze!

In other news, we're coming up on one of the last meetings of my writer's workshop. One of our regular members is moving out of state, and our meeting place is a Borders bookstore, which, since they are liquidating, will be closed soon. In short, a double whammy. Since it is still a writer / Rotary day, have some more links:

A) Just a reminder, all taxes (state, federal and local) are at historically-low rates.

B) NASA's Dawn spacecraft has reached its first target, the asteroid Vesta.

C) If somebody calls you a Neanderthal, they are (partially) right. All humans other than those from sub-Saharan Africa have some Neanderthal genes in them.

D) Here's a very impressive pictorial of massive Chinese public works.
