Striking While the Iron is Hot

Over last week's vacation, I got quite a bit of writing done, involving adding over 10,000 words to help flesh out The Night Watch, sequel to Pirates of Mars. Since some of those words replaced words badly chosen, I'm now at 67,000 words in total. But I know I have another chapter to write, and what's now a short epilogue needs to become a regular-sized chapter plus an expanded epilogue. So that ought to get me around 72,000 or so, which is about where Pirates ended up before the first readers took a whack at it.

In short, I'm in good shape. But since the creative juices have been flowing, I've been focusing on converting juice to bits in a Word file. Thus, don't expect a lot of me on the blogging front.
