Housing Update Updated
Jun. 3rd, 2013 09:07 amI went and looked at two more townhouses over the weekend. One, in Lombard, was nice but a very unfriendly floor plan. Basically, the front door and garage shared a small 6 by 6 landing on the first floor. All of the living quarters were upstairs, and you were living above the person who owned the one car garage unit. The units had nice back yards, but for the unit I looked at, getting to the back yard required either a ladder or traipsing out and around the building. Does not meet my needs.
The other unit, in Westmont, was in a complex I looked at back in 2008. The units are two-story, and it's two units to a building, so there's only one common wall. The inside of the unit was okay, although one of the two full bathrooms was downstairs, while all the bedrooms were upstairs. Acceptable, but not ideal.
I'm going to revisit a unit I saw some months ago, and if that is as nice as I remember, I will be putting an offer on it. Of course, this unit is the most expensive I've seen.
