chris_gerribRotary today, and back from a 2-day vacation, so I'm trying to get un-buried. However, here are a few links I found that I may come back to for more discussion.
Health Care: From the Denver Post, an article debunking Canadian health care myths. A quick quote on the idea that Canadian taxes are too high: "At the end of the day, the average after-tax income of Canadian workers is equal to about 82 percent of their gross pay. In the U.S., that average is 81.9 percent."
Global Warming: Artic sea ice is declining. For example, see here, source of this graph (courtesy of the University of Illinois):
