I'm at work today, but in a holding pattern. I had a chance to look at all ths videos at the link The Case for Police Reform, which I referred to Wednesday as "highly questionable police shootings." I was wrong about that. A couple of the police events weren't questionable at all.

One of the events was in Taos, New Mexico. The too long; didn't watch version is woman gets pulled over for speeding, won't sign citation. When the cop walks back to his car, she takes off. He pulls her over again, tries to arrest her, she and her kids briefly fight him and his backups, then lead police on a high-speed chase through Taos. The shooting was three shots fired at the fleeing vehicle and was in my view highly justified.

Another event was man gets stopped by police while waiting on a bench for his kids. He probably shouldn't have been stopped, but once police get called, they have to investigate. The man refused to identify himself, and ended up getting Tasered over it.

There were others in the article that were more questionable, including one in which a guy gets shot for no good reason at all. I think the moral of this story is that, in shooting cases, details matter.
