By me. I engaged somebody on their website on their pet peeve. I shouldn't have, and when things got heated I should have walked away instead of hang around and argue. I've been working on my temper, but occasionally it still gets out of hand. ETA: Note to self - remember Rule #7.
Weekend Social Update
One of our newer Rotarians is active in Team 66, an educational foundation supporting a local school district. On Saturday, they had an improv troop from the Second City Comedy Club come out and put on a show as a fundraiser. We had a pre-event drink, caught the show and then attended a post-event party at one of the event organizer's house. It was a really nice evening.
Sad Puppies?
When a Professional Crank on the Internet tells me anything, even "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west" I have a tendency to go out at the appropriate times with a compass in hand. When
jeff_duntemann tells me something, I'm more inclined to listen. (I'm still not convinced, mind you, but listening.)
In any event, one of the arguments regarding the irrelevance of Worldcon is Comic Con. So, there's a mid-sized convention coming to Chicago (more specifically the Rosemont Convention Center) this weekend. I have a ticket and intend to scope it out.
