It's been a rainy Saturday (although we're in a lull at the moment) so I've found myself contemplating my home office, which is feeling increasingly lacking. This is especially so since I'm now permanent work-from-home. Now, to be fair, I've never spent a lot of money on my home office.

For example, I have:
One small student desk with a hutch, purchased for me by my parents when I was in grade school
One five-foot open table, black laminate, obtained free in the late 1990s
One five-foot folding fiberglass table, bought for $50 at Home Depot in mid-2020
One closed credenza, purchased in late-2020 for around $150 (it was an assemble-it-yourself deal)
One square wooden table, an antique from my parents
One overflowing tall bookshelf bought in the early 2000s, also assemble-it-yourself
One two-drawer file cabinet, free from my great aunt
One side table, free from my dad
One office chair, purchased
One side chair, free

This supports two laptops (one work, one home) three monitors and two printers, plus various desk lamps and misc stuff.

Things I'm lacking:
1) My personal laptop is configured in such a way that I can only use one monitor. I've gotten used to a two-monitor rig (external and laptop) for work so I'm not as happy as I used to be with a single monitor.
2) General workspace. Both of the printers are sitting on work tables, consuming real estate that I could be using for other things.
3) Storage. My credenza was purchased to store stuff I don't frequently access. But the other storage areas are small and full.
4) Segregation of functions. My current personal and business work areas bleed into each other. This is always going to be a bit of a problem (it is just one office) but my current lack of workspace seems to aggravate matters.

I'm not looking for solutions at the moment, merely documenting the problem.
