Various Thoughts

I have to admit being a bit cranky regarding the health care debate. It seems to me that many of the folks on the opposite side of the aisle have a lack of information or are simply disinterested in looking at the facts. Not so
bdunbar. Unfortunately, I was a bit snippy with him yesterday, so my form of apology (his idea) is a donation to The Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I'm giving $20 (which is an expensive beer) but since I'm donating via credit card, I need to make the gift worth the processing cost.
I have discovered that I have an irritating writing "tick" - I confuse "loosing" with "losing." Loosing with two "o"s is to "let loose." Losing with one "o" is to lose - by accident or error. This article Loosing Customers and Losing Sales should help me keep it straight.
Lastly, I was channel-surfing last night and came across a documentary about Audrey Hepburn. What I didn't know until watching the show was that she was born in Belgium, and lived in the Netherlands (specifically Arnhem, of A Bridge Too Far fame) during WWII. She also very nearly starved to death during the Nazi occupation. This was especially ironic considering her father was a Nazi sympathizer. Her wartime experiences inspired her post-war humanitarian efforts.
