The urge to write hit me again, so I indulged, doing some work on Einstein's War. I have to say that there were two reasons for the hold up. First, I needed to justify to myself and the reader why exactly the aliens were attacking. Understanding why the war starts is important to understand how the war will be fought, and what will be considered an acceptable end-state.

The second reason for the hold up was a need to create a second, alien, point of view. Because I want to get the POV characters introduced early, that meant re-writing Chapter 4 from his point of view. Thus the disappointingly low word-count. But they are good words, useful words, and now I can move on.

Word Count for Einstein's War
Complete (17,478) Goal (80,000)
21% complete
Word Count This Session = 465

Hi Chris,
If you're stuck, I found "Aliens and Alien Societies: A Writer's Guide to Extraterrestrial Life-Forms" helpful. It was written by Stanley Schmidt and edited by Ben Bova.
