Three Thoughts For A Monday

Three thoughts, related only by being held in one mind (mine):
Thought the First: I've figured out how to break my ties in the Hugo ballot - vote the "cool and wow" factor. The more often I say "cool" or "wow" about a concept in a book or short story, the move points it gets. This is entirely subjective, but then so is the whole Hugo ballot.
Thought the Second: There is a saying that "Navy" is actually an acronym for "Never Again Volunteer Yourself." Apparently I didn't learn that, because I am now volunteered to help my dad at the American Legion events in Westville on Labor Day.
Thought the Third: Rihanna and Hayley Williams have given me yet another reason to dislike rap music (not that I needed any more). They both have recently put out collaborations out with (presumably) famous rappers. In both cases, the women do the hard work - actually sing - while the men just shout words into a mike. Rather a double standard, if you ask me.
