Sales Update

chris_gerribMy LSI sales numbers for December are in. The Mars Run sold 5 copies in December. The good news is I'll have a nice tax write-off for 2006.
In other "business of writing" news, interested self-publishers should visit Speculations.com and scroll down to Robert Blevin's interesting discussion of self-publishing via LSI directly. Don't get me wrong - I love Lulu, but their per-book costs are high. My book at 179 pages is $8/ copy COST. Since it's not returnable, I can't get it into bookstores.
I considered following Blevin's advice and taking The Mars Run to LSI directly, but I decided not to. My goal is not to be a self-publisher, but to be a published author. I'd prefer to let somebody else do the marketing and editing of my books. Obviously, knowing that I can self-publish means that, should I get a contract, I will certainly make sure that the book is always in print via POD.
