Handgun Registration

chris_gerribFor my Illinois readers, you may have heard that a committee of the Illinois House passed a bill authorizing handgun registration. The bill, HB5831, is percolating through the Statehouse. This bill would require each gun owner to register (and pay a fee for) each handgun they own, pay a renewal fee every five years, and report and pay transfer fees any time they buy or sell a handgun.
