A) I am not a prepper, survivalist or whatever they're calling themselves this week. However, I do occasionally look at those sites, largely because I'm a gun person. Herewith are two thoughts on weapons for SHTF (Shit Hits The Fan) situations: Swords for SHTF? A Skeptical Perspective from a Sword Arts Practitioner and The Crossbow: a Terrible SHTF Weapon Choice.
B) Apropos of the just finished novel Pamela's Ghosts, here's 50 different Industrial Machines that it takes to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts. Or, the 50 different machines you'll need to secretly build your war machine for invasion.
C) 20 Weird Things About America That Americans Don't Realize Are Weird.
D) Cliven Bundy, the state sovereignty rancher in Nevada, should really READ his state's constitution.
E) Does the US Navy have 10 aircraft carriers or 19?

Date: 2014-04-17 05:37 pm (UTC)This would have been even more confusing if the Akron and Macon had remained in service. Though each could launch and recover several aircraft, they probably wouldn't have been called "aircraft carriers" either.
