Entertainment Review
Dec. 28th, 2022 02:00 pmI have the week off, so I have been catching up on my entertainment. Herewith are reviews of two recently-viewed shows.
The film Queen of the Desert
This is a 2015 biography of Gertude Bell, a fascinating woman who quite literally drew the borders of the modern Middle East after WWI. Alas, the movie is slow and ponderous, albeit beautifully shot. It would have been better if they had either focused on a particular incident in her life or expanded it to mini-series length.
The TV series The English.
I'm only two episodes into this "revisionist" western starring Emily Blunt as the titular English person. She's come to America to avenge her son's death. So far I'm finding it interesting.
